Not rated for counter, but may be used in Bath applications.
Not rated for floor due to wear and slipping concerns, but 2 x 2s and 1 x 1s may be used on shower pans.
All Product sizes are approximations.
Color and shade variation are sometimes extreme, and may differ from product samples.
Variation in size and color may occur from shipment to shipment. No guarantee that tiles received in subsequent orders, as add-ons will match or blend well with those from original order.
Bisque is unglazed tile that should be sealed before grouting & is not guaranteed to be wear resistant.
Both glazed and bisque (unglazed): size and texture variation.
Several types of surface irregularities can occur (surface pops, puddle of glaze in depressions).
Surface pops and efflorescence may occur before and/or after installation and are not uncharacteristic of handcrafted tiles.
Surface pops result from concentrated spots of lime that pop off of the tile. Efflorescence describes the growth of salt crystals on a bisque surface due to the evaporation of salt laden water. On glazed tiles this happens below the glaze surface and can have the same effect.
Crazing which is the appearance of cracks in the glaze surface, can occur before or after installation and is an inherent characteristic of many handcrafted tiles. Crazed tiles should be sealed with a penetrating sealer. Sealers may change the appearance of some colors. Please test your sealer before applying to tile.
Some of our tiles may have a porous/irregular surface that may be accentuated by a contrasting grout color. If this is not your preferred result, consider sealing the tiles with a penetrating sealer.
Samples may not accurately represent the full range of variations of the actual order.
Avoid customer service problem or delay, order 5 % extra for cuts, breakage and layout changes.
A mud set or thin set is recommended, especially if tile will come in contact with water. Never apply tile to green board or sheetrock & never use mastic.
The surfaces of handcrafted tiles are rarely flat and may vary in thickness. Installers should shuffle tile and/or draw from multiple cartons to take advantage of these variations.
Sanded Grout is recommended for grouting.
Grout is not waterproof even if it is sealed, latex-modified, or epoxy. It must be assumed that water will get into the tile system in every case. Hence, mold may become an issue.
The Ceramic Tile Institute does not rate our tiles. They are not wear resistant and are not guaranteed to be wear resistant.
The tiles are considered for indoor wall use application only, and are not freeze tolerant.
As in all tile, handcrafted tiles can chip, nick & scratch.
Handcrafted tile is not acid resistant and should be used on counter tops only at the clients risk.
Tile can stain from certain substances such as juice, cola, cleaners or sealers.
If end-user insists on installing our tiles on a counter-top, we suggest incorporating a built-in cutting board or a work surface station into their design.
Our handcrafted tiles are not made to be freeze tolerant, for use in pools, wet or dry saunas or fountains.
Writing or marking on our tiles (especially the matte finished) is not recommended.
We do not recommend or advise the sealing of our glazed tiles, as sealers may mar the finish.
Matte Tiles may have little or no shine. We recommend cleaning our Matte tiles with a neutral cleaner and a white synthetic, non-abrasive pad.
Rejection of tiles must be made prior to installation.
Installation of our tile constitutes acceptance of these irregularities.
Residential shipments are shipped with a "Signature Required" for delivery.
LTL's should be inspected prior to acceptance. Any obvious damage must be noted on the Bill of Lading
Regarding breakage freight companies require that all product, boxes and packing material be saved for inspection.
